Snowflake Data Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Snowflake Data Engineer to join our growing data team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake, advanced SQL capabilities, and strong Python programming skills, combined with experience building reliable data pipelines across multiple source systems.

As a key member of the data engineering function, you will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and BI developers to deliver high-quality, reporting-ready datasets while ensuring data quality, governance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines within Snowflake to support enterprise analytics and reporting requirements.
• Develop robust data models, transformations, views, stored procedures, and reporting-ready data structures.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for high-performance data processing and analytics.
• Create and maintain Python-based solutions for data ingestion, transformation, automation, and orchestration.
• Develop and support ingestion pipelines using Dataiku, integrating data from various source systems including SharePoint, Salesforce, and SFTP environments.
• Monitor data pipelines, identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and implement continuous improvements.
• Collaborate with business users, data analysts, and BI teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Implement best practices for data governance, documentation, testing, version control, and operational support.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability across all data platforms and processes.
• Contribute to the strategic migration of data ingestion and orchestration workloads to Azure Data Factory (ADF).

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Snowflake Engineer, or similar role in a production environment.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Snowflake, including:
  • Data modelling (dimensional and relational)
  • Stored procedures and views
  • Data transformation and optimization
  • Performance tuning
  • Reporting-ready data architecture
• Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
• Strong Python programming skills for data processing, automation, and pipeline development.
• Experience building and maintaining enterprise-grade data pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with Dataiku for data ingestion and transformation workflows.
• Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems, including SharePoint, Salesforce, and SFTP sources.
• Strong understanding of data quality, monitoring, logging, and error-handling frameworks.
• Experience working with source control and CI/CD processes for data engineering solutions.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data cataloguing practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure data services and cloud-based data architectures.
• Knowledge of modern orchestration and workflow management tools.
• Experience supporting large‑scale analytics and reporting environments.
