Job summary

Khatib & Alami is seeking a Site Engineer - Structural for Dubai Building Projects. You will act as an on-site technical adviser, review submittals, RFIs and shop drawings, ensuring work conforms to K&A specs and QC procedures.

The role requires 5+ years in engineering, experience in the Middle East, and strong communication in Arabic and English. You will coordinate with project teams, support client relations and monitor safety on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
• Chartered Professional Engineering certification or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of construction supervision services.
• Understanding of international engineering standards and codes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure responsibilities are fulfilled with a high quality and in a cost-effective manner.
• Support Project Managers with managing client relations and expectations.
• Support Project Managers with responding to client clarifications on technical and contractual issues.
• Support Project Managers with organizing inspections by third parties.
• Ensure client satisfaction with construction supervision services.
• Review shop drawings, materials submittals and bills of quantities for accuracy; notify discrepancies.
• Supervise the installations of equipment on site.
• Carry out inspections as per daily forms submitted by contractor.
• Ensure materials at store comply with approved submittals.
• Attend technical and progress meetings to discuss and share information.
• Monitor site progress and ensure work conforms to K&A specs and QC procedures.
• Notify Contractor of necessary revisions.
• Review contractor payments and compare percentages with actual on site; raise discrepancies.
• Monitor safety aspects per Senior HSSE Engineer.
• Issue letters, site instructions and NCRs.
• Implement corporate policies and procedures.

Job Summary

The Site Engineer- Structural is a member of the supervision services team. S/He acts as a technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, contractors and site team. The jobholder monitors site progress and makes sure that the work carried is as per K&A specification and QC procedures. He processes daily site information, such as Submittals, RFI's and Shop drawings.

• Support Project Managers with responding to client clarifications on technical and contractual issues, as needed

Key Responsibilities (Internal Business Process)

• Review shop drawings, materials submittals and bills ofquantities for accuracy of calculations. Notify theAssociate Project Manager of any discrepancies
• Supervise the installations of equipment on site.
• Closely work with the project team to carry outall inspection subject to the daily form submitted bycontractor
• Ensure that the materials at store are according to theapproved materials submittals
• Attend technical and progress meetings to discuss andshare relevant information for the smooth progress ofthe construction project
• Monitor site progress; make sure that the work carriedon site is as per K&A specification and QC procedures.
• Notify the Contractor of any necessary revisions.
• Review the contractor payment and compare thepercentages submitted by the contractor with the actualon site. Raise any discrepancies to the Contractor foraction.
• Monitor all safety aspects of the project and ensure strictadherence to the safety regulations as dictated by theSenior HSSE Engineer.
• Issue letters, site instructions and NCR, as necessary.
