Job Purpose:
The Site Engineer – Mechanical is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and managing the mechanical works at the site. This includes HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical systems, ensuring that all work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the installation and execution of all mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire fighting.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
- Monitor subcontractors’ work to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, other engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure timely delivery and installation of mechanical equipment and materials.
- Perform quality inspections and testing of mechanical systems.
- Maintain daily site reports and track progress against project timelines.
- Provide technical input and solutions for site-related issues and coordinate changes or revisions.
- Participate in meetings with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspections, approvals, and quality records.
- Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and project close-out documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in a construction or MEP contracting company.
- Previous site experience on high-rise buildings, commercial complexes, industrial or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, firefighting systems, plumbing, and piping works.
- Familiar with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.).
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
