The Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, and maintaining the project schedule.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage all construction activities on-site, including supervising the work of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards, and ensuring that the work is completed on schedule.
- Collaborate with the project manager, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that the project is completed in accordance with the design plans and specifications.
- Develop and maintain construction schedules, including identifying critical paths and potential risks, and taking proactive measures to ensure that the project is completed on time.
- Ensure that all work on-site is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and that appropriate protective equipment and measures are in place.
- Manage the site staff and contractors, ensuring that they are properly trained and equipped to carry out their responsibilities.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to the site and manage inventory levels to ensure that materials are available when needed.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify potential issues that may impact the project schedule or quality.
- Maintain accurate records of all construction activities, including progress reports, safety records, and quality control reports.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly progress reports to the project manager and other stakeholders.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain construction schedules and manage project budgets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential issues before they become critical.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of site staff and contractors.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Must be willing to work on-site and able to travel as needed.
