Job description

We are working with a highly respected, multidisciplinary design consultancy renowned for its contemporary approach, precision in project delivery, and longstanding presence in the UAE. With a rich portfolio of high-profile projects across commercial, hospitality, mixed-use and civic sectors, they are now seeking a Site Architect to lead post-contract project coordination and design implementation on-site.

This is a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented architect who thrives in a fast-paced environment, acting as the key liaison between the design team, contractor, and client — ensuring that the original design vision is upheld with excellence through to handover.

Design & Project Oversight

  • Manage project delivery on-site, ensuring alignment with approved design intent, programme, and budget.
  • Lead post-contract design coordination and serve as the Design Coordination Manager or Lead Design Consultant (LDC) as required.
  • Review and approve technical detailing, ensuring compliance with both local regulations and international design standards.
  • Proactively resolve design-related queries and challenges during site execution.

Client & Contractor Engagement

  • Represent the design team in client and contractor meetings, promoting clarity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  • Participate in and lead site-based coordination workshops, offering expert insights on construction feasibility and materials.
  • Maintain strong communication with contractors, sub-consultants, and site teams to uphold design integrity and avoid project delays.

Construction Administration & Quality Control

  • Attend weekly site inspections and issue detailed reports to document progress, variations, and quality benchmarks.
  • Review contractor submittals including shop drawings, material samples, and mock-ups for technical and aesthetic compliance.
  • Conduct snagging and defects inspections, ensuring timely closure of outstanding items during project handover.

Reporting & Project Closeout

  • Prepare monthly project updates for clients and internal stakeholders, reporting on timelines, risks, and resolutions.
  • Review and finalise as-built drawings and O&M manuals to ensure handover packages meet the required standards.
  • Ensure all QA / QC procedures and documentation are upheld to the practice’s high expectations.

Requirements

  • Professional degree in Architecture with a minimum of 4+ years of post-contract and on-site experience
  • Strong understanding of construction detailing, contract administration, and consultant coordination
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage site-based decision-making and stakeholder relationships
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with confident report-writing and presentation abilities
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; additional knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, or site reporting tools is advantageous
  • Based in the UAE or able to relocate with immediate availability
  • Up to 20,000 AED per month
  • Be part of an award-winning consultancy delivering culturally significant and design-led architecture
  • Work alongside a dynamic team known for its collaborative mindset and technical rigour
  • Gain exposure to some of the region’s most iconic design projects in a studio that balances creativity with accountability
