Job summary

CAE is seeking a Simulator Technician to support training center operations in Dubai. Qualifications

  • 3 to 6 years of related work experience required.
  • Skilled working knowledge of computer systems and programming languages.

Responsibilities

  • Support technical and operational aspects of Flight Simulator Training Devices.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex training device issues.
  • Provide on-the-job technical training to other technicians.

Skills

About
This
Role

As
a Simulator Technician the incumbent will
support all training center operations activities to provide smooth
efficient and highquality service at a brandnew Training Center
located in Dubai UAE.
In addition the incumbent will
strive to achieve CAEs goal of providing worldclass flight
simulator training center operations aligned with CAEs Vision as a
global training partner of choice to enhance safety efficiency and
readiness in all aspects of training center
operations.

The role
we are offering
you:

  • Support all
    technical and operational aspects of the Flight Simulator Training
    Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices as
    applicable.

  • Attend flight
    crew and maintenance calls perform daily readiness support flyouts
    as required perform scheduled preventative maintenance and run
    Qualification Test Guides
    (QTGs).

  • Identify diagnose
    troubleshoot and resolve complex training device issues and
    AOGs.

  • Identify recurring
    issues and work to pursue permanent
    solutions.

  • Seek and make
    improvements to procedures related to various training device
    maintenance tasks.

  • Through
    coaching and mentoring provide onthejob technical training to other
    technicians fostering the professional development of all
    personnel.

  • Work with the
    specialists on complex issues that require extensive testing
    troubleshooting research and
    design.

  • Assure maintain and
    support the FSTD operations Management System including
    implementation and adopting processes and procedures as deemed
    required.

  • Perform recurrent
    minor updates of Nav DB Terr DB OIS & EFB Charts Documents
    and Perf Data as well as IOS Lesson Plan
    uploads.

  • Maintain track and
    request consumable items and tools required to perform the PMTs and
    Daily Readiness.

  • Support
    logistics duties including yearly inventories rearrangement of
    stores packing preparation for shipping
    etc.

  • Pursue knowledge and
    skills to become a technical expert in one or more simulator
    systems. (i.e. Visual Motion Flt Controls
    etc)

Our
ideal candidate
has
:

  • Technical
    College Diploma or Degree in Electronics Electrical or Aviation
    Field and at least 3 to 6 years of related work
    experience.

  • Excellent
    knowledge of the English language read spoken and
    written.

  • Highly
    customeroriented able to establish and maintain effective
    relationships with the
    customer.

  • Skilled working
    knowledge of computer mainframe/architecture networking operating
    systems and programming languages. Ability to make minor software
    changes.

  • Proficient
    technical background (Hardware and Software) and familiarity with
    FSTD technical issues across all systems specifically: motion
    visual avionics dynamics of flight aircraft systems
    etc.

  • Proficient knowledge of
    various aircraft types including Commercial Jetliners (Airbus
    family).

  • Proficient
    understanding of aircraft and training device
    terminology.

  • Good
    understanding of Commercial Aviation
    training.

  • Effective
    knowledge of local & International (EASA UAE DGCA etc.
    regulations with demonstrated experience as they pertain to
    FSTDs.

  • Proficient computer
    skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office
    Suite.
