Qualifications

Job description

As a Simulator Technician, the incumbent will support all training center operations activities to provide smooth, efficient, and high-quality service at a brand-new Training Center located in Dubai, UAE.

In addition, the incumbent will strive to achieve CAE's goal of providing world-class flight simulator training center operations aligned with CAE’s Vision as a global training partner of choice to enhance safety, efficiency, and readiness in all aspects of training center operations.

The role we are offering you :

1. Support all technical and operational aspects of the Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices as applicable.
2. Attend flight crew and maintenance calls, perform daily readiness, support flyouts as required, perform scheduled preventative maintenance, and run Qualification Test Guides (QTGs).
3. Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex training device issues and AOGs.
4. Identify recurring issues and work to pursue permanent solutions.
5. Seek and make improvements to procedures related to various training device maintenance tasks.
6. Through coaching and mentoring, provide on-the-job technical training to other technicians, fostering the professional development of all personnel.
7. Work with specialists on complex issues that require extensive testing, troubleshooting, research, and design.
8. Assure, maintain, and support the FSTD operations Management System, including implementation and adoption of processes and procedures as required.
9. Perform recurrent minor updates of Nav DB, Terr DB, OIS & EFB Charts, Documents, and Perf Data, as well as IOS Lesson Plan uploads.
10. Maintain, track, and request consumable items and tools required to perform the PMTs and Daily Readiness.
11. Support logistics duties, including yearly inventories, re-arrangement of stores, packing, and shipping preparations.
12. Pursue knowledge and skills to become a technical expert in one or more simulator systems (e.g., Visual, Motion, Flight Controls).

Our ideal candidate has :

1. Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Aviation Field with 3-6 years of related experience.
2. Excellent proficiency in English (reading, speaking, writing).
3. Strong customer orientation and ability to establish effective relationships.
4. Working knowledge of computer mainframe architecture, networking, operating systems, and programming languages, with ability to make minor software changes.
5. Proficient in hardware and software troubleshooting, with familiarity with FSTD systems such as motion, visual, avionics, and aircraft systems.
6. Knowledge of various aircraft types, including Airbus jets.
7. Understanding of aircraft and training device terminology.
8. Good understanding of Commercial Aviation training and familiarity with relevant regulations (EASA, UAE DGCA, etc.).
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
