Carpenter Journeyman (Shuttering/Formwork Specialist at construction site)

IMMEDIATE JOINING

Location: Mogadishu, Somalia

Duration: 2.5 – 3 Years (Project-Based)

Docol Group, one of East Africa’s most dynamic and fast-growing companies, is actively recruiting a highly skilled Carpenter Journeyman to join the construction team for our prestigious 5-star hotel and mall project (100,000m²) in Mogadishu, Somalia. The project, managed by Docol Investments FZCO, is being developed to UAE luxury standards and is located in a secure zone near the AMISOM Green Zone.

Responsibilities

• Execute formwork, framing, and finishing carpentry tasks in line with construction drawings and specifications.
• Install doors, windows, trims, cabinetry, partitions, and other wood-based components with high precision.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and shop drawings to guide carpentry tasks.
• Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
• Repair, replace, or adjust existing structures and fixtures as required.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure efficient workflow.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Inspect work for quality and alignment with project standards.
• Assist in mentoring junior carpenters or apprentices on best practices and techniques.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certified training or diploma in Carpentry or Construction Trades.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in formwork and shuttering carpentry on commercial or hotel projects.
• Excellent skills in framing, cabinetry, and interior wood finishing.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, carpentry tools, and materials.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
