Shipping Operations Executive

The Shipping Operations Executive is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end shipping and logistics operations, ensuring the timely and efficient movement of goods. This role involves coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal teams to optimize shipping processes, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with international trade regulations. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of shipping documentation, logistics coordination, and supply chain management.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate daily shipping operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
• Communicate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transport providers to secure the best rates and services.
• Ensure compliance with local and international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and trade laws.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and certificates of origin.
• Track and monitor shipments, providing updates to internal teams and clients.
• Resolve any shipping-related issues, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies in documentation.
• Work closely with the procurement and sales teams to align shipping schedules with business needs.
• Optimize shipping processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, logistics costs, and service agreements.
• Analyze shipping performance metrics and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in a shipping or freight-forwarding company.
• Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, incoterms, and customs clearance processes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with vendors and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to handle multiple shipments and coordinate efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in shipping documentation.
• Experience in handling import and export documentation is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage operational challenges effectively.
