Part of the Regional Office Operations Team, and reporting directly to the Ops Manager, your responsibilities are:

  • Obtain detailed information on vessel specifications, stowage structure / bay plan, and limitations liaising with Chartering and Vessel command.
  • Establish optimal loading and unloading vessel plans and ensure that vessel voyages and port operations proceed smoothly, obtaining approval from the vessel prior.
  • Ensure, in close cooperation with Captains/Chief Officers, the good condition of vessels' seaworthiness throughout the voyage.
  • Ensure that all material equipment improving productivity and port turnaround times is available, relating to Terminals and Agents.
  • Review and advise on remaining vessel allocation to Line Management, Cargo Flow, partners, and agents. Ensure all ports and partners remain within their set allocations.
  • Communicate with Cargo Flow when vessels are overbooked, rollovers, etc.
  • Coordinate with different parties of the Line and all operational support teams, Dangerous Cargo Office, Cargo flow, OOG & BB desk, etc.
  • Monitor and manage special loadings: dangerous cargo, Reefers, Out of Gauge (OOG, Breakbulk), and Flexibag / Flexitank according to international regulations (IMDG code, ISM…), the Group and Line’s instructions.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of Changes of Destination (COD) according to their position on board, following requests from sales teams, Logistics Department, and partners.
  • Optimize stowage plans in each port of the rotation to minimize ballast water on board and ensure the trim complies with the group company directive for fuel efficiency.
  • Ensure timely submission of administrative tasks in accordance with SOP, such as LISA BP, BP upload on group SharePoint, departure BP to terminals, and agents.
  • Approve Port Call Reports (PCR) sent by SSC. Participate in developing statistics and monitor the filling factor and restows performed throughout the voyage.

REQUIREMENTS:
Fluent communication in English, both speaking and writing. Good command of IT tools and knowledge of specific planning and/or vessel stability calculation software programs.
Reactive, rigorous, and organized; capable of carrying out operational missions with anticipation, managing priorities and emergencies.
Teamwork is required within the framework.
Cross-cultural awareness is important due to communication with a worldwide spread of international calls.
Ability to demonstrate continuous improvement in workflow and knowledge.
Reasonable conceptualization and analytical skills.
Previous knowledge or experience related to onboard container ships, terminal planning, vessel management, or terminal operations is advantageous.
