A leading company in waste management is seeking a Senior Shift Supervisor to manage operational shifts in their Waste-to-Energy facility. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing staff training, and overseeing operational efficiency. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years in power generation and at least 2 years in a supervisory role within a relevant industry. Strong technical knowledge and effective communication skills are essential for success.
The Senior Shift Supervisor is directly responsible for the personnel and activities of the assigned operating shift in maintaining the continued operation of the WtE facility in compliance with established safety regulations and procedures, federal and state environmental regulations, production schedules, output requirements, and contractual obligations, and is responsible to cover for all operation and maintenance activities when senior management is not on site.
1.2 Job Responsibilities
· Compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental requirements
· Manages the activities of the assigned operating shift through direct and interactive supervision of operators and other support personnel to assure continued operation of cranes, conveyors, boilers, turbine generators and all auxiliary equipment according all federal and state environmental standards.
· Assures that all shift employees are adequately trained for their position, that they comply with established operating procedures for normal and emergency situations, and that safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operations are maintained.
· Maintains an effective safety program, conducting regular safety meetings with shift personnel, assuring each employee’s understanding of, commitment to, and compliance with established safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Maintains daily logs recording all shift activities, and assures that all operator logs and systems check sheets are completed by the Operators. Additionally, prepares comprehensive event-based reports in a timely fashion.
· Ensures that plant and equipment are maintained in good working order, completing work requests for maintenance when required.
· Supervises repair work by operators or by maintenance employees when maintenance supervision is unavailable.
· Assumes responsibility for all operation and maintenance activities as the senior management representative during the night, weekend, and holiday hours when senior management is not on site.
· Initiates and participates in employee counseling and corrective action procedures.
· Provides annual written performance reviews of all Operators and meets with each employee to discuss his or her progress/review, both throughout the performance interval and at year’s end.
· Attend HSE Inspections, audits, assessments, meetings and incident
· Assures that the facility is clean, safe, and orderly place to work through support and enforcement of housekeeping standards.

1.3 Educational/Professional Qualifications/Training Certifications
· Minimum high school education or equivalent.
· Advanced education, either in progress or completed, in technical field desirable.
· Must be able to obtain ASME/pressure vessel operation certificate.
1.4 Job Experience
· Minimum 5 years cumulatively in EfW or power generation
· Minimum 2 years as a Shift Supervisor preferably in plants utilizing waste as fuel, mass burn, or fossil fuel technology, with proven knowledge of power plant equipment and systems.

· Excellent communication (read, write and verbal) skills in English Language
