Job summary

Knauf GCC in Ras Al Khaimah seeks a Mechanical Technician to maximize plant uptime through preventive and reactive maintenance. The role operates on rotating shifts and requires strong background in process equipment, mechanical systems, and basic repairs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with gypsum board plants, building materials, or similar continuous processes.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance for rotating and static equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and maintenance documentation.
• Experience planning maintenance in SAP and managing spare parts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant equipment across multiple plants during assigned shift.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to the schedule and update SAP PM orders.
• Carry out mechanical repairs including welding, alignment, and belt/conveyor systems.
• Identify energy-saving opportunities and participate in improvement projects.
• Follow safety procedures, permit-to-work systems and 5S workplace standards.
• Ensure accurate shift handover and proper record-keeping of maintenance activities.
