Job summary

BG Global in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

You will service pumps, gearboxes, agitators and other rotating equipment, manage spare parts inventory, and uphold food safety and HSE standards while coordinating with production teams. Shift work is required to support continuous operation.

Qualifications

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years in the starch manufacturing industry.
• Experience with rotating equipment and heavy industrial machinery.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and troubleshoot equipment.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on pumps, gearboxes, agitators, centrifuges, grinders, rotary valves, dryers, sifters, conveyors, bucket elevators, and other rotating equipment.
• Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Perform equipment alignment and leveling using precision instruments.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of mechanical spare parts.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HSE standards.
• Maintain maintenance records and coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
