Job summary

SAVERGLASS is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure continuous operation of all site installations. You will perform shift-based maintenance, lead quick repairs, and coordinate with SMEs and Maintenance Managers to optimize asset safety and plant efficiency.

You will manage electrical and mechanical systems, oversee utilities, and uphold strict safety standards. Strong English communication and experience in continuous processing industries are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Automation.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience with power supply, transformers, motors, pumps, chillers and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability and smooth running of all site installations and shifts.
• Perform autonomous maintenance operations for site staff, asset safety, quality and efficiency.
• Assist in areas where another specialised technician is present when required.
• Take full responsibility for utilities such as electricity, water, gas, compressed air, fuel, chillers and boilers.
• Lead quick repairs after breakdowns and communicate with SMEs and Maintenance Managers.
• Report shift events in detail and communicate warnings or opportunities.
• Handover procedures between technicians with ongoing installations and upcoming events.
• Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety standards with colleagues and contractors.
• Keep workshops and machines tidy and perform other tasks for plant efficiency.

Job description

Business Need Purpose of the Role

Ensure all required maintenance operations on overall site installations from shift emergency fixing to preventive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities

In a shift position, ensures availability and smooth running of all site installations. Realizes in full autonomy all required maintenance operations for site staff and asset safety, quality and efficiency, and quick fixing in case of failure.

For areas where another specialised technician is present (IS machines, cold end, SMT), the role is to help him if required. For all other installations and especially utilities (electricity, water, gas, compressed air, fuel, chillers, boilers), he is fully responsible.

This requires a wide range of technical skills (see below). If not able to lead quick repair after a breakdown, ensure communication with SMEs and Maintenance Managers through efficient alert to team leader.

Ensure detailed reporting of shift major events and efficient communication on potential warnings or opportunities.

Handover previous and next technician with consideration for installations running, previous results, specific given instructions and upcoming events.

Work safe. Ensure strict respect of safety standards by his colleagues or contractors; is able to show, read, comment and train for any of them he is concerned with.

Keep workshops and machines tidy in day to day job and after maintenance operation.

Agree on doing all other tasks that may be required for plant efficient operation.

Education and Experience

Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Automation. Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position.

• Electrical Maintenance: Power supply, transformers, wiring, motors, generators, etc.
• Mechanical & Fluid Systems: Pumps, air compressors, dryers, chillers, boilers, etc.
• Automation: Siemens automation systems.
• Additional Industrial Skills: Pneumatics and pyrometry (preferred).

Experience in the glass manufacturing industry is preferred but not mandatory.

Candidates must have experience in a continuous process industry, such as cement manufacturing or iron casting.

Good command of English (reading, writing and speaking). Familiarity with computers.
