Job description

To provide support and direction to the business in its aim of zero harm.

This will include the analysis of risk, the setting of objectives, training and awareness, monitoring and review.

In addition to the aim of continuous improvement through risk reduction, the Shear systems must also be maintained to satisfy company and local regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  1. Establish clear annual targets and plans for risk reduction based on analysis of current performance and corporate targets.
  2. Timely reporting and analysis of SHEAR statistics.
  3. Support for the wider business in training and awareness of safety issues.
  4. Liaise with government agencies relevant to Shear compliance with the regulations set by local authorities.
  5. Develop and maintain a functioning Safety Management System compliant with Abu Dhabi EHS requirements.
  6. Develop a more proactive safety approach across the business.
  7. Group Safety Audit & implement fully all SG safety standards within the factory.
  8. Propose, execute, and maintain continuous SHEAR training to relevant staff within the factory and maintain proper training records.
  9. Carry out SHEAR audits periodically and follow up with relevant parties to close gaps within an acceptable timeframe.
  10. Support line managers in undertaking accident investigations according to SG safety guidelines when required.
  11. Actively promote SHEAR awareness amongst factory staff and the wider business through regular discussions, audits, safety meetings, and events as appropriate.
  12. Keep abreast of ongoing trends, practices, and improvements in the process industry.
Qualifications

Qualification in a technical degree and postgraduate qualification as a registered Safety Officer.

Experience

Working experience as a SHE Officer in a manufacturing environment.
