Job summary

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented SHE Advisor (Site Supervision) to join our Abu Dhabi team. You will ensure high standards of safety, health, and environmental compliance across construction and operation sites, serving as the liaison between management and site personnel.

The role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, with experience in site inspections, incident investigations, risk analysis, and implementing corrective measures to foster a culture of safety excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in SHE/HSE advisory or supervisory roles, preferably in construction or heavy engineering environments.
• Proven expertise in site inspections, hazard assessments, and risk analysis.
• Strong knowledge of incident investigation methodologies and root cause analysis techniques.
• Proficiency with safety management systems, incident reporting software, and audit documentation tools.
• Comprehensive understanding of UAE labour laws, OSHA standards, and international safety regulations.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent SHE certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; document findings; and recommend preventive measures.
• Analyze safety data and trends to develop targeted improvement initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws, international safety standards, and organizational SHE policies across all site operations.
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including incident reports, inspection checklists, audit records, and compliance certificates.
• Provide safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel, emphasizing hazard awareness and safe work practices.
• Collaborate with site managers, contractors, and workers to develop and implement site-specific safety plans.
• Monitor PPE use and ensure maintenance of safety equipment and facilities.
• Communicate safety performance metrics and recommendations to senior management through reports and presentations.
• Stay current with evolving safety regulations and industry best practices in UAE construction.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental compliance across our construction and operational sites. You will serve as a key liaison between management and site personnel, conducting thorough inspections, identifying hazards, and implementing corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety excellence.
