Job description

An excellent opportunity has opened up for a motivated individual to join the Shariah Compliance team at a leading Islamic financial institution. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about Islamic finance and eager to grow within a regulatory and governance-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring day-to-day business activities to ensure compliance with Shariah rules, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Support the review of contracts, forms, policies, marketing materials, and operational documents for Shariah compliance.
  • Help prepare gap analyses and compliance reports based on new resolutions and circulars from the Higher Sharia Authority (HSA) and other regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in periodic reviews and field visits to assess the effectiveness of existing Shariah controls.
  • Maintain and update internal checklists and records to support structured compliance monitoring.
  • Assist in preparing periodic reports and documentation for internal committees and regulatory bodies.
  • Promote awareness of Shariah compliance requirements within the business through training support and coordination.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Shariah, Islamic Banking, or Islamic Finance. Additional knowledge in law or economics is a plus.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Shariah compliance, audit, or advisory within an Islamic financial institution.
  • Basic understanding of Islamic finance principles, banking products, and regulatory standards such as AAOIFI and HSA requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and ethical conduct.
