Job summary

BYD Aftersales Retail Team within Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility in the UAE is seeking an Automotive Technician with EV expertise to diagnose, repair, and service BYD electric vehicles.

You will work with HV safety procedures, use diagnostic tools, and contribute to high-quality workmanship while delivering excellent customer service. Diploma/ITI in automotive tech and 2–3 years EV experience preferred; UAE driving license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI/NCVT/ITC or equivalent technical qualification.
• Hands-on experience in vehicle diagnostics, maintenance and repair.
• Experience with EVs or Hybrid vehicles is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot EV systems including high-voltage components and battery systems.
• Carry out repairs per manufacturer guidelines and EV safety standards.
• Complete repairs right the first time to minimize downtime.
• Perform vehicle inspections and support EVC reporting.
• Follow HV safety procedures, workshop processes and 5S standards.
• Ensure efficient use of parts, tools and resources.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team to deliver excellent customer service.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EV technology and innovations.

What Equips You for the Role

• Diploma, ITI, NCVT, ITC, or equivalent technical qualification
• 2-3 years of experience as an Automotive Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Service Technician, General Repair Technician, or EV Technician
• Hands-on experience in vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair
• Experience working on Electric Vehicles (EVs) or Hybrid Vehicles is highly preferred
• EV or High-Voltage (HV) certification is an advantage
• Experience using manufacturer diagnostic tools and repair manuals
• Good understanding of electrical, electronic, and high-voltage vehicle systems
• Valid UAE driving license is an advantage
