Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent technical qualification required.
• 2–3 years of automotive technician experience.
• Experience with EVs or hybrid vehicles preferred.
• Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on BYD EVs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot EV systems including high-voltage components.
• Carry out repairs per manufacturer guidelines and EV safety standards.
• Complete repairs right first time to minimize downtime.
• Perform vehicle inspections and support EVC reporting.
• Follow high-voltage safety procedures, processes and 5S standards.
• Use parts, tools and workshop resources efficiently.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team to deliver excellent service.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EV tech and industry trends.

What You Will Do

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair work on BYD electric vehicles
• Diagnose and troubleshoot EV systems, including high-voltage components and battery systems
• Carry out repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines and EV safety standards
• Complete repairs right the first time, minimizing vehicle downtime
• Perform vehicle inspections and support Electronic Vehicle Check (EVC) reporting
• Follow all high-voltage safety procedures, workshop processes, and 5S standards
• Ensure efficient use of parts, tools, and workshop resources
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to deliver exceptional customer service
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EV technology and the latest automotive innovations’

Required Skills to Be Successful

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
• Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and automotive systems
• Understanding of EV technology, battery systems, and charging systems is preferred
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret technical manuals
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Good communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

You will be part of the BYD Aftersales Retail Team within Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility, supporting one of the world's fastest-growing EV brands. What Equips You for the Role

• Diploma, ITI, NCVT, ITC, or equivalent technical qualification
• 2–3 years of experience as an Automotive Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Service Technician, General Repair Technician, or EV Technician
• Hands-on experience in vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair
• Experience working on Electric Vehicles (EVs) or Hybrid Vehicles is highly preferred
• EV or High-Voltage (HV) certification is an advantage
• Experience using manufacturer diagnostic tools and repair manuals
• Good understanding of electrical, electronic, and high-voltage vehicle systems
• Valid UAE driving license is an advantage
