Job summary

Edge Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Service and Maintenance Engineer to join our Operation Support team. You will maintain and troubleshoot CNC and production machinery, with a focus on DMG Mori and multi-axis CNC machines, ensuring high uptime and safety.

You will perform preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and support machine installation and upgrades, while maintaining CMMS records and contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of relevant maintenance or service engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on CNC machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience in fault diagnosis and root-cause analysis.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled, preventive, and emergency maintenance on DMG Mori and multi-axis CNC machines.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose faults on Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain CNC controllers.
• Perform geometric and mechanical machine alignment using dial indicators and lasers.
• Service and repair WEDM and EDM systems.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, automated circuits, and control panels.
• Backup and restore CNC parameters, PLC programs, and machine data.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of recurring machine failures.
• Support machine installation, relocation, repairs, and technical upgrades.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
• Manage critical spare parts and maintain CMMS records.
• Ensure compliance with HSE and LOTO procedures.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Service and Maintenance Engineer to join our Operation Support team. The role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting CNC and production machinery, with a strong focus on DMG Mori and multi-axis CNC machines.

The position will support equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and emergency breakdowns to minimize production downtime and ensure safe and efficient operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform scheduled, preventive, and emergency maintenance on DMG Mori and multi-axis CNC machines.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose faults on Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain CNC controllers.
• Perform geometric and mechanical machine alignment using dial indicators, lasers, and test bars.
• Service and repair WEDM and EDM systems.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, automated circuits, and control panels.
• Backup and restore CNC parameters, PLC programs, and machine data.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of recurring machine failures.
• Support machine installation, relocation, repairs, and technical upgrades.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
• Manage critical spare parts and maintain accurate maintenance records through CMMS.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and LOTO procedures.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in maintenance or service engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience in CNC machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience in fault diagnosis and root-cause analysis.
• Good written and spoken English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing DMG/DMG Mori machines.
• Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, and/or Heidenhain controllers.
• Hands-on experience with PLC fault finding and automated systems.
• Experience servicing WEDM and EDM machines.
• Knowledge of CNC machine alignment and mechanical fitting.
• Experience using SAP, Maximo, or similar CMMS platforms.
• Industrial safety or electrical regulation certifications.
• Arabic language skills are an advantage.
