The purpose of this position is to control all aspects of the day-to-day operation to ensure a safe, secure, and efficient service.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Control the day-to-day operations following normal procedures, utilizing all available equipment.
- Liaise with the Operations Manager and maintenance teams to ensure vehicle availability for unexpected events.
- Respond promptly to passenger or vehicle alarms.
- Report incidents, failures, or events impacting safety or service performance to the Operations Manager clearly and timely.
- Control all vehicle movements.
- Coordinate service start-up and shutdown.
- Monitor operations and manage the service plan according to operating requirements, adhering to procedures.
- Make necessary service adjustments.
- Inform the Operations Manager of deviations from normal operating conditions.
- Monitor the CCTV system.
- Coordinate third-party access.
- Lead staff during incidents and emergencies, monitor passenger levels, and control service to mitigate capacity issues.
- Manage and modify services for unexpected events.
- Perform shift and emergency duties as required.
- Produce operational statistics.
- Log all daily events (failures, delays, incidents, vandalism) for handover purposes.
- Ensure operational staff are updated on current situations.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Operations Manager.
- Be aware of the Integrated Management System and related policies.
- Understand personal responsibilities related to safety, environmental, and information security policies and their potential impacts.
- Exercise personal duty of care for health, safety, and welfare.
- Use safety equipment and enforce its use among subcontractors and third parties.
- Lead by example in conserving energy, water, and resources, and suggest process improvements.
- Protect information assets and data, promoting a culture of security.
- Ensure compliance with the management system and work instructions, maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure the security and integrity of all data, including performance, finance, and customer information.
- Report accidents, incidents, breaches, or potential breaches to management or via the speak-up process.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Knowledge of Automatic Train Control, Automatic Train Operation, and Automatic Train Systems.
- Understanding of operations in an Operations Control Centre.
- Training in train operations, including supervision, regulation, and manual route settings in a control room environment.

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years' field experience as a Senior Driver, Supervisor, or similar role.
- Experience in an Operations Control Centre as an Information or Security Controller.
- Experience in a safety-critical railway operations role, following procedures and instructions.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Ideally a degree or higher diploma in a related discipline.
