A leading company in the IT sector is seeking a skilled Server Administrator to manage and optimize their server and network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in server management, system architecture, and security best practices, ensuring high availability and reliability of systems.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Server Administrator to maintain, upgrade, and manage our servers and network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in server management, system architecture, security best practices, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers.
Monitor server performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis; upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
Perform system backups and recovery.
Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other server roles.
Maintain system security through access controls, firewalls, and antivirus.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to servers.
Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Collaborate with network administrators and security teams to ensure high availability and secure infrastructure.
Provide technical support and guidance to end users and junior IT staff.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
3+ years of experience as a Server Administrator or similar role.
Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
Familiarity with backup and recovery software and strategies.
Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA Server+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
Knowledge of ITIL practices and ticketing systems.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
