Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Engineer specializing in Wet Utilities to lead design, implementation, and management of water supply, sewage and drainage systems for large-scale projects in the UAE.

You will oversee hydraulic modeling, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with architects, contractors and government agencies. This role requires extensive UAE travel and a strong commitment to sustainable water management.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with PE recommended.
• PE license or equivalent certification required.
• 8–10 years of wet utilities experience in water, sewage and drainage.
• Advanced knowledge of wet utility design principles and best practices.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong project management skills and ability to lead multiple projects.
• Extensive knowledge of water/wastewater regulations (local and international).
• Experience in hydraulic modeling and analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with sustainable water management; additional certifications preferred.
• Willing to travel across UAE to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee wet utility systems including water, sewage and drainage.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling to optimize system performance.
• Manage multiple wet utility projects with budgets and timelines.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and government agencies.
• Prepare engineering reports, specifications and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with water/wastewater regulations.
• Implement sustainable water management in designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss progress and solutions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies in wet utilities.
