Job Description:

Senior Wet Utilities Design Engineer

UAE, Dubai

Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems, selecting the most efficient and economical approaches to meet objectives. The successful candidate applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses within their discipline and may serve as a technical consultant for management or clients. Some assignments may involve CAE, CAD, or GIS applications. Willingness to travel or relocate is expected.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Plan, direct, and supervise major engineering projects requiring significant manpower and financial investment.
  • Lead other engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and quality improvement processes.
  • Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary studies and analyses.
  • Assist CAD designers/drafters, carry out CAD tasks using 3D software and model creation.
  • Ensure design compliance with all applicable codes and regulations, providing signatures when required.
  • Prepare material/equipment specifications, review supplier data, witness shop tests, and assess supplier capabilities.
  • Develop operation and maintenance plans, standard operating procedures, and conduct onsite training.
  • Conduct surveys, site investigations, and perform RAM and safety analyses.
  • Maintain professional affiliations to stay current with technology.
  • Design collection, conveyance, and disposal of pressure networks, with expertise in hydraulic modeling software like WaterCAD, WaterGems, Bentley Hammer, and WANDA. Knowledge of Civil 3D, Dynamo, Python, Open Roads, Open Utilities, GIS is preferred.
  • Familiar with load demand calculations for large developments and regulations from authorities like DEWA, ADDC, ADWEA, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD.
  • Experience in water supply systems, including treatment, pumping, and intake structures.
  • Create utility cross sections per regional authority requirements.
  • Prepare technical specifications and reports, familiar with British, American, and regional codes.
  • Liaise with service providers for NOCs and approvals.
  • Assist in budgeting, staffing, and other administrative duties.
  • Recommends and prepares technical papers.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as needed.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; 8-12 years of related experience in water/wastewater/wet utilities projects.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Leadership potential, excellent communication skills, industry knowledge.
  • Thorough knowledge of current technology and engineering software.
  • UAE experience is preferred.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Advanced knowledge in urban water supply and irrigation system design.
  • Familiarity with CAD (Civil 3D), Dynamo, Python, Open Roads, Open Utilities, GIS.
  • Regional/international water systems design experience.
