Job summary

The University of Sharjah invites applications for a Tax Senior Officer in the Finance Department to lead UAE VAT compliance and e-Invoicing initiatives.

You will prepare VAT returns, maintain schedules, reconcile data, and ensure adherence to UAE tax guidelines, collaborating with IT, procurement, and external advisors.

Candidates should have 4-6 years UAE experience in tax roles, with VAT knowledge and ERP experience; bilingual in Arabic and English preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4-6 years UAE experience in a similar role.
• At least 2 years UAE VAT compliance experience.
• Experience with VAT returns, input tax recovery, refunds and FTA support.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT law and e-Invoicing mandates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare UAE VAT returns and file timely, accurate data.
• Maintain detailed VAT schedules for output/input VAT, RC M, imports, adjustments.
• Perform monthly VAT reconciliations with source records and GL.
• Review tax invoices and contracts for VAT treatment per guidelines.
• Prepare quarterly residual input tax recovery calculations and annual adjustments.
• Provide hands-on support for UAE e-Invoicing implementation and compliance.
• Coordinate with Finance, IT, Procurement, AP/AR, and ASPs on integrations and UAT.
• Validate e-Invoice data, monitor rejections, and coordinate corrections.
• Prepare e-Invoicing reconciliation reports and procedures.
