Job description

We are seeking a Senior Group Underwriter to join our team in Dubai. Within this role, you will be responsible for underwriting health, life, and disability products for Allianz Partners' large corporate clients. The role is suited for an organized and highly analytical individual who enjoys working at the core of the business. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, committed, and have prior experience in underwriting, preferably in employee benefits.

What you Do:
  1. Evaluate and issue quotes for large corporate insurance schemes in accordance with company guidelines, pricing methodologies, and regulations.
  2. Gather and review background information to assess risk effectively.
  3. Analyze claims data and risk factors to forecast future claims and set premiums.
  4. Collaborate with Sales and Relationship Management teams during renewals and tenders to meet KPIs while maintaining standards.
  5. Prepare and issue client utilization reports, providing commentary on trends and scheme performance.
  6. Serve as a technical referral point for underwriting queries across the business.
  7. Make sound underwriting decisions within your authority limits.
  8. Manage queries within the team, ensuring quality service and timely responses.
  9. Participate in strategic projects as a representative of the Underwriting team.
  10. Ensure documentation and file management comply with standards.
  11. Maintain work activity reports for management.
What you Bring:
  1. Experience in an underwriting role; employee benefits experience is desirable.
  2. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  3. High attention to detail and accuracy.
  4. Third-level qualification in mathematics or a related numerate field.
  5. Proven teamwork and effective communication skills.
  6. Proficiency in Excel; competence in Word and PowerPoint.
  7. Ability to prioritize, collaborate, and manage multiple tasks.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  10. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  11. A proactive approach with a sense of ownership.
