Job summary

EDGE Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking experienced Principal Software Engineers focused on User Interface design (HFI/UI/UX) to support a complex Defence Communications and Command & Control system. You will contribute to design, development, integration, and maintenance of software components for mission-critical communications in a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, disciplined design and testing, and experience developing distributed applications

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering.
• 10+ years in software development, preferably in defence or mission-critical systems.
• Experience analysing designs from a Human Factors perspective (Task Analysis, Top-Down Functional Analysis).

Responsibilities

• Produce UI product specifications from end-user input.
• Develop product designs with focus on usability.
• Create prototypes and assess operational scenarios and task analyses.
• Contribute to software architecture and integration across distributed systems.
• Produce and maintain software design artefacts and participate in design reviews.
• Ensure software quality with automated tests and code reviews.
