Job summary

EDGE, headquartered in the UAE, is seeking experienced Software Engineers with a focus on UI design (HFI/UI/UX) to support a Defence C2 system. You will contribute to design, development, integration, and maintenance of distributed software components in a multidisciplinary team environments, emphasizing Java and web technologies.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software development, strong Java skills, and familiarity with GIS frameworks and Human Factors analyses.

Qualifications

Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent
8+ years of software development experience
Strong proficiency in Java development
Experience with Human Factors / HSI concepts and task analyses
Experience with GIS frameworks LuciadLightspeed and NASA World Wind
Proficiency in Web UI fundamentals: HTML, JavaScript, CSS
Solid UML/software modelling and OO design knowledge

Responsibilities

Produce UI product/system requirement specifications based on end-user input and operational analysis
Develop product/system design concepts focused on usability
Create and modify prototypes and operational scenarios with emphasis on context and task analysis
Contribute to software architecture, design, and integration across distributed systems
Produce and maintain software design artefacts/models and participate in design reviews
Ensure software quality through automated tests, integration/acceptance testing support, and peer reviews
