Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transportation Planner/Road Safety Auditor to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this critical role, you will lead transportation planning initiatives and conduct comprehensive road safety audits to enhance the safety and efficiency of our transportation infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage complex transportation planning projects for urban and regional areas
  • Conduct thorough road safety audits at various stages of project development
  • Analyze traffic patterns and propose innovative solutions to optimize traffic flow
  • Create and maintain transportation models using specialized software
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate safety considerations into project designs
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders and government agencies
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on transportation planning and road safety
  • Stay current with international best practices in transportation planning and road safety
  • Ensure compliance with local and international transportation standards and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification
  • Road Safety Audit certification
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in transportation planning and road safety
  • Proven expertise in using transportation planning software (e.g., TransCAD, Vissim) and GIS software
  • Strong knowledge of road safety audit techniques and methodologies
  • Proficiency in traffic modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in urban and regional transportation projects
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Willingness to travel within the UAE and potentially internationally for project-related work
