Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to develop multimodal transport strategies, models, and infrastructure designs for regional projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage stakeholders to improve mobility and reduce environmental impact.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in transport planning, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in leading modelling tools. Arabic is a plus; UAE regulations knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Transport Engineering, Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transport planning, traffic modelling, or mobility analysis.
• Proficiency with transport modelling software such as VISSIM, AIMSUN, VISUM, or SYNCHRO.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal English; Arabic is a plus.
• Knowledge of UAE transport regulations and sustainability guidelines.
• Experience preparing technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate transport models and forecasts for road, public transit, and active travel networks.
• Prepare traffic impact assessments and mitigation strategies for development projects.
• Support the creation of sustainable transport plans, corridor studies, and mobility strategies.
• Conduct field data collection, traffic counts, and travel surveys as required.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and consultants to integrate transport solutions into project designs.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and visualisations for clients and authorities.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
• Stay updated on local regulations, standards, and emerging mobility technologies.
• Participate in stakeholder workshops and public consultation sessions.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge‑sharing within the team.
