Job summary

Mashreq is seeking a Senior Manager, Trade Sanctions Compliance to lead the bank's sanctions risk posture across trade finance and cross-border payments. You will provide expert guidance, manage senior stakeholders, and drive control design and escalation for high-complexity cases.

You will shape the regulatory interaction strategy, lead regulatory examinations, and mentor a team of sanctions professionals, ensuring alignment with global standards and UAE regulations.

Qualifications

• Graduate with 10+ years in banking or financial services, in sanctions/AML/financial crime compliance.
• Deep understanding of trade finance and payments products and their risk touchpoints.
• Knowledge of global sanctions regimes (OFAC, EU, UK, UN, UAE) and regional landscape.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with data insights.
• Proven people leadership and development track record.
• Excellent communication skills to influence senior stakeholders.
• Commercial and risk judgment for high-stakes cases.
• Ability to operate in a global, matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Own the sanctions risk framework and screening methodology for trade finance and cross-border payments.
• Escalate complex sanctions determinations and advise on risk implications of new products and relationships.
• Lead regulatory and executive stakeholder engagement and coordinate audit and regulatory responses.
• Build and develop a high-performing sanctions team and manage capacity and performance.
