Job summary

Mashreq is seeking an experienced Compliance Assurance leader to oversee assigned activities within the unit and ensure delivery of the approved assurance plan with high‑quality, risk‑based reviews across business and compliance areas.

The role partners with senior management to strengthen the QA framework across Compliance, including UAE and international locations, and to provide independent assurance on design, operating effectiveness, controls, and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Lead and oversee activities in the Compliance Assurance Unit, ensuring delivery of the approved assurance plan and high‑quality reviews across business and compliance areas.
• Help develop an independent QA framework across Compliance, UAE and international sites.
• Provide independent assurance to Compliance Senior Management on design and operating effectiveness of the programme and policies.
• Collaborate with Compliance verticals and stakeholders to confirm controls meet regulatory requirements.
• Provide day-to-day guidance during planning, fieldwork, issue validation, reporting and closure of reviews.
• Identify and escalate significant control weaknesses, recurring themes and emerging risks for remediation.
• Proactively escalate critical issues that may expose the Bank to regulatory or reputational risk.
• Support the Head of Compliance Assurance in strengthening methodology, governance, reporting and priorities across the Bank.
