Job summary

Astra ProMed in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant Thoracic Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility. You will lead surgical care for diseases of the lung, pleura, mediastinum and chest wall, and participate in multidisciplinary thoracic oncology teams.

The role includes performing lobectomies, segmentectomies, pneumonectomies, VATS and robotic procedures, with pre- and post-operative care and ongoing clinical governance. Licensing assistance for DOH Abu Dhabi is provided.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
• Postgraduate qualification in Thoracic Surgery.
• 5–10 years of post-specialization experience in Thoracic Surgery.
• Board certification or equivalent.
• DOH Consultant license eligibility in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive thoracic surgical assessment, diagnosis, and management.
• Perform elective and emergency thoracic surgical procedures.
• Manage diseases of the lung, pleura, mediastinum, and chest wall.
• Perform thoracic malignancy resections and pleural procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary thoracic oncology teams and other specialists.
