Job summary

Tanqeeb in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Testing & Commissioning Engineer to lead site activities for EHV, HV, MV and LV electrical systems in utility, infrastructure or industrial projects.

You will coordinate with project teams, prepare and review site test reports, and ensure commissioning milestones align with contract requirements, using IEC/IEEE standards and UAE utility norms such as TAQA, ADDC or ADNOC.

Qualifications

• Experience in testing and commissioning of EHV, HV, MV and LV electrical systems in utility, infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Hands-on testing of switchgear, panel components, protection relays, transformers, cables and related equipment.
• Strong knowledge of protection schemes, relay configuration, injection tests, functional testing and commissioning procedures.
• Experience coordinating day-to-day T&C site activities with project, construction and client teams.
• Ability to prepare, review and verify site test reports, commissioning records and technical docs for client submission and approval.
• Experience planning, organizing and supervising testing activities including resource allocation, test kit management and logistics.
• Ability to prepare testing schedules, monitor progress and ensure timely completion of commissioning activities.
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards and UAE utility standards (TAQA, ADDC, ADNOC) is advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to identify and resolve electrical system issues during testing and commissioning.
• Excellent coordination, communication and reporting skills to lead testing teams and liaise with clients, consultants, OEMs and subcontractors.

Proven experience in the testing and commissioning of EHV, HV, MV, and LV electrical systems in utility, infrastructure, or industrial projects.

• Hands-on experience in testing switchgear and panel components, numerical protection relays, power transformers, power and control cables, and associated electrical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of protection schemes, relay configuration, secondary injection, primary injection, functional testing, and commissioning procedures.
• Experience in coordinating day-to-day Testing & Commissioning (T&C) site activities with project, construction, and client teams.
• Ability to prepare, review, and verify site test reports, commissioning records, and technical documentation for client and consultant submission and approval.
• Experience in planning, organizing, and supervising testing activities, including resource allocation, test kit management, and logistics coordination.
• Ability to prepare testing schedules, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of commissioning activities in accordance with project milestones.
• Familiarity with international standards (IEC/IEEE) and utility requirements, including TAQA, ADDC, ADNOC, or other UAE utility standards, will be an added advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve electrical system issues during testing and commissioning.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to lead testing teams and work effectively with clients, consultants, OEMs, and subcontractors.
