Job description

Job Title: Automobile Technician

Minimum Qualifications

• 2-year I.T.I. in Automobile or 3-year Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a dealership, with at least 2 years as a Technician.
• Physical fitness to perform repairs.

Job Responsibilities

1. Carry out repairs according to manufacturer standards and work instructions.
2. Ensure repairs are completed correctly on the first attempt (F1 – Fix it Right First Time).
3. Complete jobs within the allotted time.
4. Provide feedback on additional repairs to Team Leader, Foreman, and Controller.
5. Inform in advance about delays to the Team Leader/Foreman.
6. Work overtime as needed based on workshop load, upon request.
7. Record oils and consumables on the Job Card.
8. Handle customer vehicles safely.
9. Raise parts requisitions.
10. Fill warranty tags, attach them to warranty parts, and store in the warranty room.
11. Obtain approval from Team Leader/Foreman for additional repairs or warranty jobs.
12. Use protective covers for customer vehicles.
13. Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
14. Follow workshop safety procedures and use safety gear at all times.
15. Keep overhauls and shoes clean.
16. Use materials drawn on job cards solely for the respective vehicle.
