Job Purpose
Supervise and carry out the installation, maintenance, commissioning, and repair of electronic, pneumatic, mechanical, and analytical instruments and control systems in the operating areas, in line with HSE Guidelines, Operating & Maintenance Procedures, and the Permit to Work system.
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
- Install, maintain, and repair electronic, pneumatic, mechanical, and analytical instruments and control systems in the operating areas.
- Supervise and participate in ESD system testing, plant shutdowns, and the commissioning of new plants. Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop facilities and test equipment.
- Supervise and monitor the activities of Technicians, Fitters, and contractors' personnel involved in installation, commissioning, repair, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems, ensuring work adheres to process control and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot control-related minor problems; report major issues during ESD testing and emergencies for timely resolution.
- Regularly assess spare parts availability, estimate future requirements, and coordinate procurement of tools, test equipment, and materials to ensure availability.
- Verify maintenance records, fault reports, log books, alarms, and trip indexes for proper tracking.

- Provide on-the-job training to meet competency-based training programs, including UAE Nationalization initiatives.
Tool Box
- Maintain all tools, safety gear, and equipment in safe and working condition.
- Arrange repairs or replacements for tools and safety gear that are not in good condition.
Time Management
- Complete all maintenance tasks within designated time standards.
- Inform the Maintenance Supervisor if additional resources are needed to meet deadlines.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for improving operating procedures, machinery, and equipment.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and applicable legislation; participate in emergency response duties.
Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment before, during, and after tasks, adhering to hygiene and housekeeping standards.
Reports
- Collect technical data and contribute to progress reports, method statements, and near-miss reports.
Internal & External Communications
- Coordinate with internal colleagues and external entities such as consultants, service providers, and government agencies as required.
Minimum Qualification
- Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering, or Secondary School Certificate with vocational trade certification in relevant field.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- At least 6 years of experience in repair and maintenance of instrument & control equipment within a large industrial plant, preferably in Oil and Gas.

Work Condition, Physical effort & Work Environment
- Minimal physical effort required.
- Work in an A/C environment, with possible exposure to heat, humidity, and dust during site visits.
