Job summary

Emirates Airlines Group IT in Dubai seeks a Senior Technical Software Engineer to lead Computer Vision and AI initiatives within an agile team. You will own end-to-end CV/AI solutions, including model selection, development, testing and deployment across airport environments.

Qualifications

• Degree required in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in Computer Vision, ML or AI Engineering delivering large-scale, secure AI/CV solutions in enterprise Agile environments.
• Hands-on multi-camera CV solutions lifecycle experience and GPU-accelerated inference.
• Experience building enterprise-grade AI solutions using DevOps and edge/cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

The Senior Technical Software Engineer is a key technical member of an agile feature team who provides technical leadership while remaining hands-on in software development and problem resolution. The role is responsible for leading technical design, driving the delivery of scalable and secure software solutions, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with architects, stakeholders, vendors, and dependent teams to successfully deliver business outcomes that support the Emirates Group.

In this role you will:

• Lead the discovery and technical assessment of Computer Vision and AI initiatives, working with key technical and business stakeholders to assess feasibility and define solutions for contactless, non-intrusive passenger experiences.
• Own Computer Vision and AI solutions end-to-end, translating requirements into scalable, secure architectures and leading model selection, development, testing and deployment across airport environments, while ensuring accuracy, performance, scalability and reliability.
• Design and optimise GPU-accelerated Computer Vision pipelines for multi-camera vision, video analytics and AI inference, ensuring efficient processing of high-volume video streams and effective use of GPU resources.
• Drive the adoption of Computer Vision, AI and NVIDIA technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance passenger experience, operational efficiency, security and automation through innovative solutions.
• Lead technical troubleshooting and resolution of complex Computer Vision and AI issues, covering model accuracy, camera configuration, video processing, GPU performance, system integration and production reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external technology partners to integrate Computer Vision solutions into the wider airport technology ecosystem and meet operational and security requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams, establishing standards, playbooks and best practices across model development, benchmarking, deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Drive modern engineering practices and development automation, including lean software development, built-in quality, test-driven development, Agile practices, root cause analysis and blameless incident post-mortems. Conduct technical design reviews to ensure appropriate architecture patterns and engineering practices are adopted by the team.
• Contribute to work design and planning by providing subject matter expertise on the business domain and relevant technologies, while actively contributing to technology-specific communities of practice.
• Ensure effective use of enterprise platforms, tools and libraries in line with approved technology architecture, and support corrective, adaptive, preventative and perfective maintenance of products.

Qualification

To be considered for the role you must meet the below requirements:

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning or AI Engineering, delivering large-scale, secure AI/CV solutions — including GPU-accelerated inference and video analytics — in enterprise Agile environments.
• Hands-on experience developing multi-camera CV solutions covering detection, recognition, tracking, Re-ID and 3D/multi-view vision, with experience across the full model lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience building enterprise-grade AI solutions using DevOps, edge/cloud deployment, AI-assisted development tools, and responsible AI practices.
• Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience, with strong stakeholder collaboration to influence technology decisions.
• Strong problem-solving, risk management and production support capabilities, including incident management and root cause analysis.

Knowledge/Skills

Must have deep technical expertise covering the following areas, including but not limited to:

• Software Engineering: Microservices; Python, C++, NodeJS, Java; algorithms, data structures, concurrency, performance engineering; Integration tools like Solace.
• Computer Vision & Video Processing: Object detection, recognition, tracking, Re-ID, scene understanding, multi-camera/multi-view 3D vision, camera calibration and spatial mapping; real-time video processing via RTSP/IP cameras, GStreamer, and hardware-accelerated pipelines.
• AI/ML Model Development: PyTorch, OpenCV, ONNX Runtime; dataset curation, annotation, model training, fine-tuning and continuous improvement; Vision Foundation Models, VLMs, Generative AI and Edge AI.
• NVIDIA & GPU Computing: MV3DT, DeepStream SDK, TAO Toolkit, TensorRT, CUDA; GPU inference, FP16/INT8; Omniverse/Isaac Sim and USD for simulation
• Data, Cloud & Deployment: Relational/NoSQL databases; CI/CD and observability; cloud-native (AWS/Azure/Google); Docker/Kafka; edge-to-cloud deployment.
• Security Awareness: Secure data handling across collection, training and deployment in sensitive environments
