Job summary

Parsons in Abu Dhabi, UAE, seeks a Senior Highway Design Engineer to lead advanced road design for major highway projects. You will verify design documents, prepare calculations, and provide technical direction to designers and junior engineers.

You will apply Civil 3D and CAD expertise, coordinate across disciplines, and ensure compliance with project requirements and design standards throughout development and construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• More than 8 years of highway design experience.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and CAD software.
• Experience preparing engineering calculations and quantity takeoffs.
• Ability to review contractor shop drawings and technical submittals.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex highway engineering and design assignments accurately and efficiently.
• Develop engineering solutions for road and infrastructure requirements.
• Extract and interpret engineering information from CAD drawings.
• Prepare engineering calculations and supporting technical documentation.
• Develop material quantity takeoffs and engineering estimates.
• Prepare surveys and designs required for assigned highway works.
• Apply relevant engineering principles throughout design development.
• Support resolution of technical highway design issues during project delivery.
• Verify highway design documents against project requirements.
• Review contractor shop drawings and submittals.
• Provide technical feedback on submitted engineering information.
• Assess design documentation for consistency with approved requirements.
• Support resolution of design-related matters during construction.
• Coordinate technical responses with project disciplines.
• Review proposed solutions and identify issues needing engineering action.
• Maintain alignment between design intent and construction documentation.
• Prepare engineering drawings and specifications.
• Develop documentation for procurement and construction.
• Prepare data sheets and other construction documents.
• Maintain accurate engineering information throughout project development.
• Coordinate documentation with engineering disciplines and project departments.
• Review supplier drawings and perform technical bid analyses.
• Coordinate technical clarifications as required.
• Assist project teams with engineering input during procurement and construction activities.
• Use Civil 3D and CAD for highway design and documentation.
• Coordinate design information with CAD Designers and Drafters.
