The Role

An AWS Technical Account Manager is a trusted advisor and cloud operations architect for our Enterprise Support customers. As a trusted advisor, you'll have a direct impact in helping our customers maximize value from cloud technology. You will craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption and use of AWS services, including products like EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS databases, Lambda, CloudFront CDN, IoT, and more.

Our Technical Account Managers partner with some of the most iconic businesses, ranging from startups to large enterprises undergoing significant transformation. You will provide advice on architecture, support strategy, project and launch planning, and ongoing operational issues.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Advise on solutions, provide technical guidance, and advocate for the customer.
  2. Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy while reducing costs and complexity.
  3. Develop trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challenges.
  4. Drive technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management using your technical acumen and customer obsession.
  5. Consult with a range of partners from developers to C-suite executives.
  6. Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, and Sales Account Managers.
  7. Proactively find opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS.
  8. Provide detailed reviews of service events, monthly and quarterly metrics, and detailed prelaunch planning.
  9. Solve a variety of problems as customers migrate workloads to the cloud.
  10. Enhance customer capabilities through workshops, brown bag sessions, etc.

As we expand in EMEA, you'll have opportunities to develop your technical consulting and leadership skills, work with talented cloud technologists, and expand your knowledge of AWS products. Mentorship and AWS certifications are also available.

Minimum Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role such as Technical Account Manager, Consultant, Solutions Architect, Platform Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Cloud Architect.
  • Understanding operational parameters and troubleshooting for compute, storage, networking, CDN, databases, DevOps, Big Data, Analytics, Security, and Applications Development.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience with clear communication skills for small and large audiences.
  • Ability to manage tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer obsession.
  • Professional experience with cloud offerings such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.
  • Programming or scripting skills (Java, Python, Perl, Ruby, C#, PHP) are a plus but not required.
  • Previous experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, DevOps Engineer, etc.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and tools like CI/CD, Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes, Chef is a plus.
