Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the design and development of customized switchgear and fabricated products. The role involves preparing manufacturing drawings, conducting design reviews, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring timely delivery of accurate engineering documentation in a fast-paced ETO/MTO environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in a Design Engineering role, preferably in switchgear, ETO, MTO, or custom fabrication environments.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks PDM.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of GD&T and drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation per project specs, tender requirements, and schedules.
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Conduct design reviews in line with Design Control Plans.
• Coordinate with Design Managers and Project Managers to resolve technical discrepancies and ensure drawing accuracy.
• Track and communicate BOM changes to stakeholders.
• Ensure all project deliverables are completed within scheduled timelines.
• Follow up on pending technical inputs and maintain design accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution.
• Maintain compliance with HSE policies and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within engineering processes.
