Job summary

Vertiv in Dubai seeks an experienced Design Engineer to support the design and development of customized switchgear and fabricated products. You will prepare manufacturing drawings, develop 3D models, and conduct design reviews in a fast-paced ETO/MTO environment.

Collaborating with Design and Project Managers, you will ensure drawing accuracy, track BOM changes, and deliver all project documentation on schedule while upholding HSE and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years in design engineering, preferably switchgear/ETO/MTO.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks PDM.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, sheet metal fabrication, structural components, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of GD&T and drafting standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication and teamwork, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a Design Engineering role, preferably in switchgear, ETO, MTO, or custom fabrication environments.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks PDM.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, sheet metal fabrication, structural components, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of GD&T and technical drafting standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in custom manufacturing or engineered-to-order environments.
• Familiarity with fabrication methods, machining processes, and material selection for sheet metal, copper, and aluminum components.
• Proven ability to deliver accurate production drawings and 3D CAD models within project deadlines.
