Job summary

Parsons in Abu Dhabi, UAE, seeks a Sustainability & Environmental Senior Engineer to shape strategies for infrastructure and masterplan projects. You will provide technical support, lead training, and ensure compliance with permits and certifications, engaging with clients, consultants and authorities.

The role requires a strong background in sustainability, LEED/AP-like credentials, and proven project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in architecture, engineering, planning, or related natural sciences field.
• At least 10+ years of experience in sustainability and environmental roles enabling project approvals and certifications.
• Accredited in one or more sustainability rating systems (LEED AP, Envision, BREEAM, GSAS, Estidama PQP, etc.).
• Knowledgeable on latest trends in sustainability and environmental fields and implementation approaches.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Experience liaising with consultants, contractors, and design/construction teams.
• Project management and client interface experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical sustainability and environmental support for projects to meet goals and targets.
• Prepare and deliver training to project teams at kickoff and early stages.
• Assist with registrations for licenses/permits from authorities or certifying bodies.
• Develop project-specific sustainability and environmental strategies.
• Review deliverables from consultants and contractors for quality.
• Prepare scopes of work and evaluate procurement of sub-consultants.
• Respond to RFIs and coordinate with stakeholders for information.
• Conduct sustainability audits and site inspections and monitor corrective actions.
• Coordinate meetings with client, environmental agencies, consultants and contractors.
• Guide project teams through planning, design, tendering and construction phases.
• Oversee sustainability scope during design and construction.
• Monitor performance of sub-consultants.
• Assist with process/tools development and regional training.
