Job Description:

- We are seeking a skilled property underwriter to join our team. As a property underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing and underwriting property insurance proposals to assess risk and determine appropriate coverage and premiums. You will work closely with brokers, BDE’s and direct clients to gather necessary U/W information, review survey reports and cladding certifications, and prepare quotes in line with NGI’s underwriting guidelines and policies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Review the proposals and obtain the complete U/W information of the risk.
  2. Decide whether the proposal is within the NGI guidelines and U/W policies.
  3. Prepare the quotation in a way that NGI wins the business and the terms quoted are within the company’s underwriting philosophy.
  4. Coordinate with various branches, brokers and BDE’s to win the business quoted.
  5. Develop a rapport with various stakeholders (internal/external) to grow the business.
  6. Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation.
  7. Handle enquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  8. Assist the department in any other task as and when required depending on the operational requirements.
  9. Generate various underwriting reports and their analysis, and also keep an eye on the conversions of quotes released.
  10. Drive the business growth.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • Education: University Graduate / MBA.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in General Insurance Underwriting.
  • Holding a Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Certificate is an advantage.
