Job summary

9E Global in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) seeks a senior structural engineer with 12-15 years in engineering consultancy. You will lead steel design, review drawings, conduct site visits, and ensure code compliance while coordinating with design and site teams.

Applicants should have a Master’s or Chartered Engineering qualification; strong leadership and BD skills are a plus. The role requires expatriate-friendly relocation to Dubai and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12-15 years' experience in engineering consultancy firms.
• Proven experience in steel structure design and analysis.
• Master's Degree/Chartered Engineering will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Works independently and as part of a team to complete supervision activities.
• Review structural shop drawings, calculations, and method statements.
• Conduct site visits to monitor steel erection and resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical support during fabrication and installation phases.
• Identify and resolve design discrepancies or structural challenges.
• Review and approve shop drawings, fabrication drawings.
• Review RFIs and provide responses.
• Ensure compliance with international codes, Authority standards and project specifications.
• Monitor construction works to ensure design intent is achieved in the construction phase.
• Attend weekly site progress meetings.
• Collaborates with other disciplines regarding coordination issues.
• Maintain awareness of project budgets and timelines.
• Be responsible for delivering work to a fee agreed with a Project Manager.
• Prepare and present client and project proposals to stakeholders.
• Supports inspection team to resolve site activity issues.
• Adopts creative and innovative solutions to site problems.
