Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Structural Design and Analysis: • Lead the development and review of structural designs for super high-rise buildings, including foundations, cores, and load-bearing systems. • Perform advanced structural analysis to evaluate the effects of wind, seismic forces, and other dynamic loads specific to tall buildings. • Optimize designs for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness using advanced tools and software.
Compliance and Standards: • Ensure all structural designs comply with UAE regulations, international standards (e.g., Eurocode, ACI, BS), and project specifications. • Coordinate with local authorities for design approvals and adherence to building codes.
Construction Oversight: • Provide technical leadership during the construction phase, ensuring structural elements are built per design and specifications. • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design requirements and address construction challenges. • Collaborate with contractors to resolve on-site issues related to structural elements.
Project Management and Collaboration: • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, geotechnical specialists, and contractors to integrate structural designs with other project disciplines. • Participate in design coordination meetings to address project challenges and ensure alignment across teams. • Prepare and present technical reports, feasibility studies, and design reviews to stakeholders.
Value Engineering and Risk Management: • Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering without compromising on safety or performance. • Assess and mitigate structural risks associated with design and construction in high-rise projects.
Research and Innovation: • Stay updated on the latest advancements in structural engineering, materials, and construction technologies relevant to high-rise buildings. • Recommend innovative materials or construction techniques (e.g., modular construction, high-performance concrete, or composite materials).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla Structures.
Expertise in wind tunnel testing, seismic design, and dynamic structural analysis.
Strong understanding of advanced construction techniques, materials (e.g., steel, concrete composites), and geotechnical considerations for tall structures.
Desired Candidate Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering (master’s degree preferred).
Professional accreditation (e.g., PE, CEng, or SE) is required.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address complex structural challenges.
Certification or familiarity with LEED standards or sustainability practices is a plus.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
