Key Responsibilities:
- Structural Design and Analysis:
• Lead the development and review of structural designs for super high-rise buildings, including foundations, cores, and load-bearing systems.
• Perform advanced structural analysis to evaluate the effects of wind, seismic forces, and other dynamic loads specific to tall buildings.
• Optimize designs for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness using advanced tools and software. - Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure all structural designs comply with UAE regulations, international standards (e.g., Eurocode, ACI, BS), and project specifications.
• Coordinate with local authorities for design approvals and adherence to building codes. - Construction Oversight:
• Provide technical leadership during the construction phase, ensuring structural elements are built per design and specifications.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design requirements and address construction challenges.
• Collaborate with contractors to resolve on-site issues related to structural elements. - Project Management and Collaboration:
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, geotechnical specialists, and contractors to integrate structural designs with other project disciplines.
• Participate in design coordination meetings to address project challenges and ensure alignment across teams.
• Prepare and present technical reports, feasibility studies, and design reviews to stakeholders. - Value Engineering and Risk Management:
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering without compromising on safety or performance.
• Assess and mitigate structural risks associated with design and construction in high-rise projects. - Research and Innovation:
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in structural engineering, materials, and construction technologies relevant to high-rise buildings.
• Recommend innovative materials or construction techniques (e.g., modular construction, high-performance concrete, or composite materials).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla Structures.
- Expertise in wind tunnel testing, seismic design, and dynamic structural analysis.
- Strong understanding of advanced construction techniques, materials (e.g., steel, concrete composites), and geotechnical considerations for tall structures.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering (master’s degree preferred).
- Professional accreditation (e.g., PE, CEng, or SE) is required.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address complex structural challenges.
- Certification or familiarity with LEED standards or sustainability practices is a plus.
