Job Description
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of engineers and designers to deliver civil and structural design calculations and drawings within stipulated timelines.
- Perform analysis of fixed platform structures and offshore structures, including in-place, preservice, spectral fatigue, seismic, pushover, jacket mating, lifting, transit, and blast conditions.
- Guide engineers and designers on calculations, detailing, and drawing preparations.
- Prepare specifications for design basis reports and soil investigations aligned with project requirements.
- Collaborate across functions to optimize layouts, arrangements, vendor drawings, and resolve interference issues.
- Coordinate technically with other departments, project teams, and site teams for inputs on civil and structural drawings prior to client submission.
- Engage in technical discussions with subcontractors and consultants for review and approval of drawings and calculations.
- Utilize industry software such as SPR, Navisworks, MS Office Suite, etc., for review and analysis.
- Review geotechnical reports and interpret soil parameters for foundation design.
- Participate in project coordination meetings to resolve technical issues and prioritize activities to meet schedules.
- Evaluate bids from suppliers/subcontractors for compliance with specifications.
- Conduct site visits to address construction issues and ensure conformity with drawings.
- Support pre-bid activities by calculating architectural, civil, and structural BOQs.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience in the offshore/onshore oil & gas industry, including at least 5 years in the GCC region.
- Preferred candidates will have a Master's in Structural Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role managing teams in mega oil & gas or petrochemical projects.
- Offshore experience is mandatory; ADNOC experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in structural software such as SACS, STAAD Pro, and FEM software like ANSYS and FEMAP; review software like TEKLA and Navisworks; and familiarity with Mathcad and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of international codes and standards including API, AISC, ISO, EN1993, BS, ABS, DNVGL, and ADNOC standards.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with multidisciplinary and multinational teams.
- Previous experience working in the Middle East is preferred.
