Job summary

Good co India is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA and Database Architect to design and lead enterprise cloud database architectures across SQL Server and Azure. You will drive migration, modernization, and high-availability strategies in enterprise environments.

The role requires 5–10 years of relevant experience, strong T-SQL/SSIS/SSAS skills, and deep knowledge of Azure services, with a focus on performance tuning, security, and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10 years of SQL Server DBA, Database Engineering, or Cloud Database Architecture experience.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and SSMS.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Data Factory, and Azure services.
• Expertise in Always On, HA/DR, replication, backup/recovery, failover, RPO/RTO.
• Proven performance tuning, indexing, and capacity planning experience.
• Experience with SQL Server migration, cloud migration, and large-scale databases.
• Knowledge of PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, Git, and Azure DevOps.
• Strong security, IAM/RBAC, monitoring, governance, and compliance.
• Excellent solution architecture and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead SQL Server database architecture for enterprise and cloud environments.
• Develop scalable, secure, highly available database solutions across SQL Server, Azure SQL, and hybrid environments.
• Lead SQL Server migration, modernization, consolidation, and cloud transformation projects.
• Define HLD/LLD, architecture standards, database design, HA/DR, backup, recovery, and RPO/RTO strategies.
• Drive performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, capacity planning, and scalability.
• Design and manage Always On, replication, failover, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Implement database automation and DevOps using PowerShell, Python, Terraform, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps.
• Establish database security, governance, monitoring, compliance, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with Application, Cloud, DevOps, Security, Data, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
• Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews, mentoring, and resolution of complex database issues.
