Advisory on Market and Business Intelligence Development
Provide guidance on developing effective market and business intelligence to organize and integrate reliable, timely information focused on market competitiveness and emerging industries, with a long-term perspective.
Conduct screening and due diligence for greenfield projects, M&A, market and industry research, and industry structure analysis. Identify and evaluate adjacencies, growth strategies, and value chain analysis.
Assess TA'ZIZ's competitive value, including opportunity scanning—supply/demand, market and technology trends, competitor profiling, and analytics—to support optimal pricing and sales strategies for better decision-making.
Ensure the accuracy and timely availability of relevant information across all levels of the enterprise, from senior management to knowledge workers, utilizing existing data assets to facilitate better business decisions and uncover new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather quantitative and qualitative business and market information, perform analyses, identify key facts and insights, and articulate coherent conclusions and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Prepare briefing materials for senior management discussions to help understand business challenges and opportunities and influence strategic decisions.
- Build consensus among cross-functional stakeholders to ensure commitment to key objectives.
- Lead annual planning processes, addressing market trends, customer needs, and global benchmarks, in collaboration with sales, finance, and product teams to define business development goals.
- Coordinate with top-tier market intelligence providers (e.g., IHS, ICIS, Wood Mackenzie) for market trends and insights.
- Consolidate market outlooks from various sources and develop price forecasts.
- Generate periodic market insights for TA'ZIZ management.
- Analyze organizational capabilities and processes, identify issues or gaps affecting strategic initiatives.
- Support development and implementation of business strategies, operational changes, and process improvements.
- Analyze data such as industry trends, competitive information, and historical performance to develop forecasts supporting strategic plans.
- Develop business cases for strategic initiatives, including assumptions, ROI, risks, etc.
- Manage financial models to project impacts of strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate the financial impact of new partnerships.
Communications & Working Relationships:
Internal:
- Regular interaction with VP and team members.
- Engagement with functional heads and department managers for information gathering and sharing market intelligence.
External:
- Government authorities (e.g., Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Ministry of Energy, Department of Economic Development, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Gulf Cooperation Council).
- Top management of national shareholders, customers, suppliers, and joint venture partners for discussions and negotiations.
- ADNOC, Abu Dhabi subsidiaries, partners, and technical collaborators.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, finance, or equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Skills:
- At least 8 years of industry experience in strategic intelligence, M&A, investments, business planning, financial valuation, or modeling, preferably in hydrocarbons or petrochemicals.
