Senior Specialist - Management Reporting and Analysis

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

  • To analyse, interpret and articulate variances in financial data, assist in preparation of management reports for the Bank and subsidiaries, assist in the forecasting and budgeting of financial data, prepare segment/customer profitability data in order to ensure the department’s financial analysis and Management Information Systems (MIS) requirements are met and to support effective decision-making.
  • This job entails handling critical reporting and analysis such as Treasury management reporting, PMC and CSG reporting with root cause analysis, Peer group analysis, budgeting and forecasting skills, preparation of board packs and supporting Group Finance and the Bank on various adhoc requests for analysis and deep dives.
  • Analyse financial data, overlay data sets and drill down to determine specific areas of variance in data, provide clear articulation and explanation of these areas of variance and the data analysis to the business in order to inform and support decision-making.
  • Assist in the updating of core Banking, financial General Ledger (GL) structure, product setup and ensure database management in order to develop new and improve existing management information.
  • Work on Microsoft and Management Information (MI) tools (Business Objects) in order to produce information for various management reports.
  • Analyse and provide detailed management packs to Group Heads in order to provide a full detailed view of the business segment on a monthly basis with comparison to the budget.
  • Take inputs from budget meetings, assist in preparing financial budget and forecast and assess risk and opportunities for the business in order to provide budget presentations to Senior management and Board of Directors.
  • Complete Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP) at contract level for all products in order to ensure FTP is being accurately applied at each product and segment level.
  • Generate accurate monthly ALCO presentations in order to provide the ALCO committee with information on balance sheet, P&L and key performance indicators such as yield, cost of funds and other ratios.
  • Assist on new projects (Core banking, IFRS IX) to ensure financial support for accounting, performance management and faster decision management.
  • Adhere to all relevant organisational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner while delivering the required standard of service to customers and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have the following experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Management Accounting, Data Analysis and preparation of management reports for Banks.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) Inter / MBA in Finance or other equivalent qualification.
  • Advanced knowledge of Financial Accounting in Banks Analytical skills.
  • MS office (Excel, Power point, Access).
  • Advanced knowledge in Business Intelligence tools.
  • Possess advanced financial, quantitative skills blended ideally with strong IT skills such as Power BI, SAS and advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • OFSAA, cost management, etc., and have worked in MIS/ management reporting department in a commercial Bank environment.
