Job summary

Edari in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Senior Specialist – Financial Reporting to join the Finance team of a leading Abu Dhabi organisation.

You will own the end-to-end month-end close and financial reporting across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in line with IFRS and internal policies.

UAE industry experience and hands-on Oracle Fusion expertise are essential for success in this role with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.
• UAE industry experience is essential.
• Experience in an in-house Finance function; consulting/advisory experience not suitable.
• Hands-on experience managing end-to-end month-end close.
• Strong IFRS reporting knowledge and balance sheet control.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end month-end close for multiple entities.
• Prepare and review month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
• Perform balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations; investigate discrepancies.
• Review entity-level P&L and balance sheet movements; provide variance commentary.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting schedules per IFRS and Group policy.
• Maintain data integrity in Oracle Fusion and resolve system issues.
• Collaborate with AP, AR, Treasury and Tax to close month-end.
• Support audits and drive process improvements in financial reporting.

Job description

I am seeking an experienced Senior Specialist – Financial Reporting to join the Finance team of a leading Abu Dhabi organisation.

This role will be responsible for the end-to-end month-end close and financial reporting across multiple individual entities, ensuring accounts are accurately closed, reconciled and reported within agreed timelines.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on accounting professional with strong financial accounting, month-end close and reporting experience, combined with proven experience working across multiple entities.

UAE industry experience and hands-on Oracle Fusion experience are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end month-end close for a portfolio of individual legal entities, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all accounting activities.
• Prepare and review month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions and other accounting adjustments.
• Perform and review balance sheet, bank and intercompany reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
• Review entity-level P&L and balance sheet accounts, analysing key movements and providing variance commentary.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting schedules in accordance with IFRS and Group accounting policies.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data within Oracle Fusion, supporting the resolution of accounting and system-related issues.
• Work closely with Finance teams across the entities, including AP, AR, Treasury and Tax, to ensure a smooth and complete month-end close.
• Support audit requirements, internal controls and continuous improvement across financial reporting and month-end close processes.

Key Requirements

• Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.
• UAE industry experience is essential.
• Proven experience working within an in-house Finance function; pure consulting/advisory experience will not be suitable.
• Strong, hands-on experience managing the end-to-end month-end close process.
• Demonstrated experience managing the accounting and month-end close of multiple individual entities/legal entities.
• Hands-on Oracle Fusion experience is essential.
• Strong General Ledger and financial accounting experience.
• Excellent experience with balance sheet reconciliations, journal preparation, accruals, prepayments and month-end adjustments.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to tight month-end deadlines.
• Excellent Excel and financial systems capability.
